Research that
shapes beauty.
From cultured plant cells to microbiome-derived materials, Innova explores biotechnology as a source of differentiated cosmetic ingredients and formulation concepts.
More than selecting ingredients from a catalog.
Advanced cosmetic development often begins with the materials themselves. At Innova, we combine in-house experimental work with formulation science to investigate biologically derived fractions, extracts and ingredient systems for potential cosmetic applications.
Our work includes maintaining plant cell cultures, producing conditioned media, and preparing selected fractions for formulation research. We also investigate skin-microbiome-derived materials, including bacterial lysates and culture supernatants.
The objective is practical: identify promising materials, understand their handling and compatibility, and develop credible product concepts that can progress toward reproducible manufacture.

Research platforms and advanced ingredient technologies.
From in-house biological research to specialized cosmetic formulation systems, our capabilities connect experimental science with product development.
Plant Cell Culture & Conditioned Media
In-house maintenance of selected plant cell cultures and production of conditioned media for research into culture-derived cosmetic materials.
Extracellular Vesicle Research
Preparation of vesicle-enriched fractions using PEG-based precipitation methods, with ultracentrifugation as an additional separation approach. Fraction identity and composition require characterization.
Microbiome-Derived Materials
Cultivation and investigation of selected skin-associated microorganisms and their derivatives, including bacterial lysates, culture supernatants and vesicle-associated fractions.
Liposomal & Encapsulation Systems
Formulation expertise involving phospholipid-based carriers and encapsulation strategies to address active-ingredient compatibility, stability and delivery characteristics; performance is formulation-dependent.
Peptide & Biomimetic Active Systems
Selection and formulation of cosmetic peptides, copper peptides and complementary active complexes, with emphasis on compatibility, stability and substantiated cosmetic performance.
Botanical Bioactive Development
Selection, processing and evaluation of botanical extracts and bioactive fractions for use in differentiated cosmetic formulations.
Biotechnology-Driven Formulation
Integration of biological materials and advanced active systems into cosmetic prototypes, accounting for preservation, stability, packaging and sensory properties.
Prototype & Manufacturing Translation
Development and refinement of research-led prototypes with a view to reproducibility, testing requirements and commercial manufacturing feasibility.
ExoBiome™
Exploring the potential of the skin microbiome.
ExoBiome™ is Innova's proprietary cosmetic biotechnology research platform centered on selected skin-associated microorganisms and the materials associated with their cultivation.
Through controlled laboratory work, we investigate bacterial lysates, culture supernatants and extracellular-vesicle-enriched fractions as potential components of next-generation cosmetic formulations.
By bringing microbiome research together with formulation science, the platform provides a basis for investigating new skin-conditioning concepts. Material identity, safety, stability and performance must be evaluated for each application.
Discuss ExoBiome™ Research ↗
Biotechnology meets formulation expertise.
A novel ingredient is only useful if it can be incorporated into a safe, stable and appealing cosmetic product. Our formulation work considers the full system: ingredient compatibility, sensory profile, preservation, packaging, manufacturability and the intended market.
We can explore how an ingredient concept fits a product brief and what additional analytical, safety or performance evidence would be needed before commercial use.
Explore Custom Formulation ↗A disciplined path from idea to evaluation.
Define the Question
Identify the material, intended cosmetic function, product format and evidence needed.
Prepare & Characterize
